About

Welcome to Grace Full Mama! I am so glad you are here.  Pull up a chair and let’s chat.

I am Joy Forney and I created Grace Full Mama to be a place where you can come to be inspired by the big vision of motherhood.   A place where together we can look for the glorious in the mundane.  It is a place where you will find encouragement, inspiration, and grace for your own life as you seek to be the mother that God has made you to be.

More than anything, I want to offer you encouragement.  When you are weary, worn out, stretched thin, I want this to be a place where you can come to find a little shot in the arm, a little dose of refreshment. We all fail.

Not one of us has it all together.  It is a place where we can hold to high ideals, but live in real realities.  And where those two meet, that is where we can join together.

At the intersection of grace and truth.

We need each other.  We cannot do this thing called motherhood on our own.  We need a Savior we can rely on to hold our hand and help us in each and every moment along the way. And we need each other, a community of women, cheering each other on.

My goal for mothering is to show my children the amazing, astounding, incredible work of the Cross and trust that they will never be the same.  I know I never will.  I fumble, mess up, and crash and burn often, yet the Lord in His loving care continues to pick me up, dusts me off, and set me on the straight path once again.

So, who am I?
I’m Joy and I am the proud wife of an amazing missionary pilot.  He is my knight in shining armor. I am the proud mama to 5 beautiful kids, all of whom make it worth getting out of bed each day.
We live on an island in Indonesia, which is a country made up of islands.  It is a tropical adventure of a life that I never would have dreamed and most days would never give up.  The days I would give it up are those when we find a python like this near our yard. Yeah.
I am as vile a sinner as you have ever met, and truly but for the grace of God go I.  More than anything I want to glorify the Lord in and through my life, and through this blog. I can promise you that I will get it wrong.  But, thankfully, HE and His Word never will.  ”May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:3-4
