Holy Week

Taking this week to be quiet and ponder what was done for me on the cross.  It is no small thing, this. It is *the* most important thing in my life, and I can do nothing but be quiet and reverent before the Cross this week.

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

See you back here next week!

Amen to this! I was thinking today that if Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was His only involvement in my life, it would be enough! And yet He gives us relationship too! Our God is amazing!

Thanks Joy for all your great posts about being a mama that loves her kiddos to death and honors Jesus through all the ups and downs of mothering. I hear your mama’s heart and have one too! Thanks for being a blessing to so many.
    Warmly, Susan

It really means a lot when I see Christian bloggers taking time out for Holy Week and not just showing off Easter recipes and crafts all week long. Wonderful to see!!! Hope you have a prayerful week. I’m so glad I just came across your blog:)
